Pro-basketball player Shannon Brown and his wife R&B singer Monica were filled with glee as they arrived to BOA to celebrate their nuptials with friends and family.
Shannon attended the dinner wearing a Gucci short sleeve polo shirt, which retails for $259 and Gucci high-top lace-up sneakers, which retails for $450, while his wife, Monica, sported a stunning dress in a royal purple satin finish.
Can you say cute! And the rock he was sporting — simply amazing!
34 year old Jonas Bevacqua, the co-founder and creative director of popular urban clothing company LRG, was found dead in his California home today.
LRG was favored by ambassadors of hip hop culture like Kanye West, Cee Lo, Young Jeezy and The Roots.
In an interview with Hypebeast earlier this month, Bevacqua discussed his advice for upstarts fashion brands:
“My advice to any upstart brand… is to have a partner with a lot of money, but make sure it’s smart, vested-interest money. There’s a big difference between smart money and regular money. I was lucky enough to have two business-savvy math whiz kids as partners. Know your part – if you’re the creative guy then be the creative guy, if you’re the business guy then be that guy. A lot of times people try to wear all the hats and end up doing nothing at all because they take on too many projects and nothing gets finished. Part of growing is delegating. Keep it fun. If you have to call it work then you probably shouldn’t be doing it. Don’t take it so serious, fashion is an expression. It’s an art, it’s a reflection of how you feel, it’s supposed to be fun. We’re not curing cancer, even though that would be nice. Most importantly always stay inspired or else you can get bored very easily. I’m constantly looking for new hobbies and interests to stay inspired.”
Rapper Lil’ Wayne was seen enjoying his Memorial weekend at Rehab pool party at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. He was spotted wearing a “Starlet Crew” sweatshirt, which retails for $100, from the Joyrich Fall/Winter 2011 Collection.
He also wore this in black during his 2011 Billboard Awards performance.
This longsleeve crewneck features American actress Bette Davis with a star covering her left eye printed on the front.
Rihanna was seen arriving at LAX airport wearing a black Nike Sportswear sweatsuit, Air Zenyth sneakers, and carrying a Prada logo denim top handle bag.
The Air Zenyth sneakers cost $90 and the Prada logo denim top handle bag cost $959.
She made sure she would be comfy for her trip.
Singer Chris Brown and rapper Bow Wow visited the “Art in the Streets” exhibition at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in Los Angeles, California.
Chris Brown was spotted wearing a black BBC Ice Cream “Three Servings” crew-neck sweatshirte which retails for $154 and some tan cargo shorts.
Besides his attire, the art work looks amazing!
It seems that Balmain replaced creative director Christophe Decarnin with Oliver Rousteing as the first step in “recreating” the brand, but now the house has confirmed that they will be launching a new children line in September 2011 called “Pierre Balmain,” named after the founder of the fashion house. Balmain states that the line will be more youthful and best of all, cheaper than the parent line.
Celebrities such as Ciara, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jay-Z and so much more have been seen dressed down in Balmain clothing.
With regular Balmain prices hovering around $3,000 for a dress and $5,000 for a jacket, we’re assuming ‘affordable’ means in the $300-$500 range…
The first collection will be for Spring/Summer 2012, so if you liked what your fav celebs were rocking then look out for the release next year!
Last night Queen Latifah unveiled her newest venture, a line of clothing and accessories for HSN.
The collection, called ‘Queen’ will include everything from denim and leggings to clip on hair extensions. Though there will be tons of offerings for the curvaceous diva, Latifah hesitated to call it as such, saying, “I wanted to make something size two and up…The truth is, we all would like to wear the same clothes. We all want to wear beautiful, fly clothes no matter what size you are, and so for me it was important to match with a company that understood and respected that ideal.”
Keep your eyes peeled for launch August 27th. Prices will range from under $100 for clothing to up to $300 for select accessories.

So the 2011 Billboard Music Awards just went down at the MCM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kelly Rowland, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and more took to the bright white carpet to flex their most fashionable outfits.
Female artist of the Year Rihanna glowed in a white Max Azria pantsuit with her favorite nude Christian Louboutin Pigalle pumps. Though some still hmm at her bright red hair color, it pops here! The contrast of her bouncy lava colored curls, orange lip, and optic white outfit are delightful.
Former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams came to support third bandmate Beyonce’s performance. Kelly looked gorgeous in a strawberry jam toned mini Herve Leger and gold strappy sandals. I’m on the fence with Michelle’s outfit, though I do love her frock’s sequins and textured skirt.
And speaking of Beyonce…
Billboard’s Millennium Girl rocked a black form-fitting Lanvin Brooch Dress from their Fall 2011 Ready to Wear Collection, paired with Christian Louboutin Jenny Knotted Platform Pumps in Glitter. Though the dress isn’t absolutely jaw-dropping, it fit her personality and her newly svelte frame.
Nas came out of hiding looking a little shell shocked in bright white pants, a gray top, and rugged gray leather motorcycle jacket. The aviators and the Jesus piece were a great added piece to his entire look.
Ne-Yo also represented for the fellas in a cornflower blue suit and sunglasses, anchored by a baseball hat and two-toned shoes. At first glance, did anyone else think he was wearing white socks with black house slippers? Shoes aside, the suit is nice. The hat is a little casual for the carpet but, he’s trying to diverge from his typical ‘fedora’ steeze.
Trey Songz made an appearance in a crocodile skin printed black blazer, white tee, black jeans and white high top sneakers. 
Keri Hilson looked radiant in a golden poppy sheer sleeved mini Rachel Roy dress, accented by a turquoise belt and strappy gold sandals. Keri’s style choices have been getting blasted as of late, but she worked it in this instance. Love the color, the contrast, the overall shine.
Mary J Blige looked ravishing in a leopard and black Marc Bouwer gown, brought to life by a high platinum ponytail. The dress is definitely out of the box, but it works for her because of her style.
Reality star Sinbad showed up with daughter and aspiring singer Meredith Fuller, looking in his element in a black outfit. Simply love Meredith’s shimmery silver mini dress and tie up sandals; Sinbad stuck to the axiom, black on black is always chic.
Also in all black was Taio Cruz, who wore a black suit with a black top and dark black sunglasses. It’s a fine look, but Perhaps a colorful jacket or funky spiked kicks would have made this look more fashionable and tasteful.
Fergie looked bomb in a S&M inspired black Herve Leger by Max Azria Atelier dress with clasps, cut outs, and buckles, played up by platform Christian Louboutin Daffodil pumps. The look is alluring, but doesn’t beat you over the head with sultriness. It’s just amazing.
Lastly, friends 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather grinned on the carpet in jeans and casual tops. Tthey just look like they bring the party, Floyd looked smart in his cardigan, and 50 simply looked ripped in his orange shirt and cap. Not groundbreaking, but their spirits make them look hot.
Even Kesha showed up looking .. different.
